Northridge Renewables has made a pledge to sustainability. In addition to developing and constructing renewable energy, we incorporate sustainability into each one of our projects.
We design our on site storm water infrastructure for wetland creation. Wetlands pull carbon from the atmosphere and clean our air. These wetlands double as ecosystems for the many creatures that depend on them. Turtles, frogs, newts, snakes, birds, and insects all call wetlands home. In addition to wetlands, we build retention ponds for project sites that need to divert water. Instead of closing off streams or sending water underground into dry wells we create these ponds to ensure the wildlife that depends on them is not forced to relocate and native plants continue to grow.
Incorporated into our post construction restoration, we plant pollinator plants , place bird houses and bat boxes around the perimeter of our projects.
Three-fourths of the world’s flowering plants and about 35 percent of the world’s food crops depend on animal pollinators to reproduce. More than 3,500 species of native bees help increase crop yields. Some scientists estimate that one out of every three bites of food we eat exists because of animal pollinators like bees, butterflies and moths, as well as birds, bats, beetles and other insects.
Bird houses offer many benefits to the environment. Thy help birds to survive, and in turn, birds serve to keep weeds and insects in check, pollinate flowering plants, fertilize the soil, disperse seeds, and add biodiversity to the ecosystem.
Northridge Renewables is proud to be partnered with Northridge Conservation, a non profit organization focused on reforestation and conservation of wildlife and wildlife habitats.
